Three shows into the Aventine tour and it is spell binding. Agnes Mika and Anne put on an incredible show and the whole touring crew is so sweet. Wandered the city in Oldenburg looking for a birthday cake and found a market full of plums and mushrooms, a mexican restaurant surprisingly at the city centre and the castle next to the church. The first show where ghosts unplugged the guitar amp in the opening song but drifted to the shadows soon after. Amsterdam at Paradiso, first time playing in this city of bikes and canals and it charmed. A late night Indonesian restaurant with cubed sticky rice satay sauce and fries, a bright green creamed Bounty-esque drink and moonlight city exploration over confusing pedestrian bridges preceded a day off. Record store gems, a rental bike navigation through the park of marathon runners and along the canals, over bridges and bricked streets ended with watching Tv cooking shows in Dutch.
London’s Union Chapel sounds incredible and it is a pleasure to sing in a place like this. An amazing crowd and a special show and then the inevitable Dominos pizza and garlic dip and black cab to the east end.
Very excited for the rest of the tour form London to Bristol by train Colston Hall and back on the bus.

Last night was the last show in Switzerland on this tour. Always an incredible country to play we had so many warm welcomes and amazing meals, made new friends, musical discoveries and had great adventures.. here are some pieces of the tour diary so far. Thank you to everyone who made this possible hopefully see you again soon and a special thank you to Katy Mulveney my friend and tour manager who made it extra special.
Using all the hours of the day, waking up in Geneva early, breakfast in Lausanne CoOp mission finally found Vin Cuit this town feels familiar now and lovely with its cobbled and steep streets and cool cafes i am starting to know after many visits. The scenic route out towards Zurich (Katy ‘you’re welcome! pretty! pretty! pretty!) What will we do with out the cows in our daily lives? 5 crows. a looming goodbye and road sandwiches hummus and mustard delicious. Zurich anchor beer wander in duffel bag heaven and the sparkliest highest platform heels in all sizes for pretty men and everyone. Swiss gold from a strange stranger and creeping around in the sparkly club under the club.. At one with the disco branches..

We had a wonderful night at La Plante in Montreal, it was a really magical evening. Feathers hung in tree branches bearing fortunes for everyone to hold and wear, candles light the stage while beautiful graphic patterns were projected onto us. The poetry art sound installation performance from ODA EL MAR (for which i played live theremin) set the tone with Meriem Bouhara’s incredibly powerful performance of the Pablo Nereuda poem.
Elfin Saddle’s set was haunting and mysterious with their vintage tape loop machine and long tubing creating eery feedback loops under their esoteric melodies. We were so happy to see them in this intimate setting and honoured that they shared this night with us. A night for goodbyes it was the last show we will play together in this inversion of the band for a while and i looked around the stage and felt so lucky to have been able to play with Erla, David, John and Louis-Alexandre. Wonderful friends and incredible players. We played our hearts out. We ended the set with Safe & Sound and Emi and Kristina from Elfin Saddle joined us on musical saw and cello.
A song about touring musicians and a perfect way to say goodbye with my best friends..
I will let you know when I have arrived in Berlin, safe & sound.
Thank you every one who was there in body or in spirit.

On our last tour in Europe we made some big decisions. We changed the name of the project from Erin Lang & The Foundlings to Feral & Stray and to relocate from Montreal, Canada to Berlin, Germany.
A big leap but it feels like the right choice and we are also very happy to be working with the Berlin based record label Mikrokleinstgarten who are releasing ‘Between You And The Sea’ on November 1st in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium. So a lot more touring to come and a new band lineup. Also live i will be playing bass again! My soul instrument! Feels very nice.
Very exciting times ahead!
